Ventrus Biosciences is a fast-growing privately held specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the late-stage development and commercialization of gastrointestinal (GI) products. Strategically, Ventrus Biosciences concentrates on licensing late-stage GI products in areas of unmet need. The development strategy for each asset is based on the most efficient path to regulatory approval, with the full potential of each asset achieved by means of additional postmarketing indications. The Ventrus Biosciences executive team has extensive experience in developing and commercializing pharmaceutical products in specialty markets. President and CEO Thomas Rowland has over 18 years of commercial experience in specialty markets, including nine years in gastroenterology. Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Terrance Coyne, MD, has over 20 years of VP-level experience in clinical development and has been involved with at least 13 submissions of new drug applications (NDAs). Vice President of Clinical Operations John Dietrich, PhD, has over 16 years of VP-level experience in preclinical and clinical development, has managed 12 clinical trials, and has been involved with three NDA submissions.
